Classroom behavior expectations.

Coming into my classroom students are to feel safe and comfortable in an environment that they are able to learn. Students who come through Miss Cox's classroom door are expected to:

*Be Respectful
*Be Honest
*Take ownership for their own actions
*Be Kind

The first day of classes I asked all three of my sections what types of actions would represent these core values. This is what each of them came up with:

7-1 ELA
-Be honest
-no talking when others are talking
-be prepared
-pick up after yourself
-respect peoples things
-no fooling around
-treat others the way you want to be treated
-don't rain on other peoples parades
-be kind to others
-follow core values
-keep hands/feet to yourself
-no bottle flipping
-no drawing on desks
-don't break anything
-don't distract others on purpose
-stay on topic

7-2 ELA
-no yelling
-pick up after yourself
-raise your hand
-stay on topic
-keep your hands to yourself
-tell the truth
-respect your classmates/teacher/property
-respect other peoples opinions

7-3 ELA

-No talking while others are talking
-hand in your work on time
-raise your hand
-take care of classroom supplies
-respect other people property
-be prepared
-don't lie
-do not draw on the board without permission
-pick up after yourself
-respect personal space
-treat others the way you want to be treated
-listen
-stay on topic

Behavioral Consequences

IN MY ROOM I HAVE a "three strike you're out" rule.

strike one: name on board
Strike two: name on board with a check mark
strike three: name on board with two check marks and a detention.

(teacher discretion will be used for extreme cases)

all students start each and every day with a clean slate.
